HOMETOWN: Portage, MI  Go Huskies!

EDUCATION:   BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan, 1992.  Berean School of the Bible, 1992-1997.  Ordained in Ministry, May 1997.

MINISTRY PASSION:   Sharing Christ with unchurched people.helping believers go deeper in God.

INTERESTS/SPECIAL ABILITIES:   Making homemade Sicilian meatballs.  Yum!  Skiing on real mountains, not garbage dumps.  Everything digital.

FAVORITE BOOK:   Probably two. Pilgrim's Progress.  Lord of the Rings.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCES:   Surgeon cut out my hamstring tendon, drilled two holes in my knee bones, and screwed the hamstring tendon into my knee.  Now I have a brand new anterior cruciate ligament so I can school you on the court!

TRAVELS: China.  Western and southern Europe.  Our northern neighbor.

EDUCATION:   B.A. Education, University of Michigan 1993

MINISTRY PASSION:  To show the world a true and authentic follower of Jesus Christ and to bring people one step closer to Him on their spiritual journey.

INTERESTS/SPECIAL ABILITIES:  Coffee, long talks and great friends. Loves interior design.  I sew all of my kids clothes by hand.  Not really:-)  But I do like to sew.

FAVORITE BOOK:  Better Homes and Gardens Magazine (I know it's not a book, but hey, I like magazines and that's all I have time for now with 4 kids running circles around me!)

UNIQUE EXPERIENCES:  When I was young we loved to play  "slip and slide" during summer.  One day there was something sharp on the ground which sliced my stomach open as I went sliding down the wet grass.  I received 32 stiches from the ordeal.

TRAVELS: Western Europe

EMMA

9 years old.  Loves everything pink.  Owns something like, 4 American girl dolls, and their horse.  Loves to shop on ebay, already!

JONATHAN

7 years old.  Loves every weapon known to man.  Likes to vanquish the bad guys and catch flies!  Love to draw, and has the best penmanship in the house.

ALYSON

7 years old.  Loves her pink, gameboy SP.  Loves video games and playing Millsberry.com.  Get the picture?

MATTHEW

2 Youngest member of the tribe.  His new fascination is flushing everything he can find down the toliet. Oh great.

KATIE SHIELDS

HOMETOWN: Muskegon, MI

EDUCATION: B.A., Music and French from Western Michigan University 2004

MINISTRY PASSION : Sharing Chirst; Seeing students grow in their relationship with God through fellowship, the Word, prayer, heartfelt service, worship and walking out a life pleasing to God.

INTERESTS: backpacking, mountain biking, singing, slashing out mean guitar leads (well sort of... just playing acoustic guitar really).

SPECIAL ABILITY : to shoot 3 streams of water out of my teeth, while singing.

FAVORITE BOOK : lately, it's the hiking guide to the Adirondack Mountains

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE:  I was attacked by a rooster as a child, but my dad got the best of him. (The details are too graphic for the web)    hahah!!
